Montana State was desperate for a win. After beating Utah on the road, they lost two straight heading into their game against San Jose State. It wasn't easy, but they got the win with a 77-70 victory over the WAC opponent.
They were led early by Christian Moon, who nailed his first 4 treys en route to 19 points on 7/11 shooting, 5/8 from three-point range. He has been a great asset off the bench, and is quietly turning into one of the best outside shooters in the Big Sky.
Jamie Stewart was also big for the Bobcats, as he had 21 points and 4 rebounds on the night. Montana State built a 12 point lead in the second half before SJSU actually came back to take the lead. However, the Bobcats tightened up the lead a bit and hit some key FTs, which enabled them to even their mark to .500.
After a big start to the year, Shaun Reid has struggled lately, and he has 3 points on 0/4 shooting. They will need him to be a key rotation player this season.
