Lillard, a 6-foot-3, 195-pound junior guard from Oakland, Calif., scored a career-high 41 points and led Weber State to a thrilling 91-89 double-overtime win over San Jose State on Saturday night at the Dee Events Center. Lillard’s 41 points were the second-most in Weber State history, and he became the first Wildcat since 2000 to score 40 points in a game.
The other candidates for the award were Will Cherry of Montana, Cliff Colimon of Eastern Washington, Melvin Morgan of Idaho State, Xavier Blount of Montana State, Colin Gruber of Northern Arizona, Nate Lozeau of Portland State, and Tate Unruh of Northern Colorado.
