Idaho St. signs Shoreline native 6'3 G Tomas Sanchez Co-MVP of CVC, 1st Team All State for Fresno City College (CA) per @Tomas206Hoop247For a great profile on him, check out NorCal Basketball back on January 12th.
Maybe he is on the appropriate recruiting radars, maybe not, but some coaches are going to rue the day they passed on participating in the Tomas Sanchez sweepstakes. He can play both guard spots, is an excellent passer, and can hit from long-distance. He was co-MVP of the Central Valley Conference, and first-team All-State for a very successful program. He looks like a guy that should be able to step into the lineup immediately for ISU and be one of the best newcomers in the conference.
Also need to mention that Sanchez was a teammate of Marcus Hall, a Portland State recruit.

He looks somewhat similar to Grabau, but a bit slower. His speed is what kills him. Looks like he has a nice stroke and can keep defenses honest with the ability of hitting shots outside. As for a player who will turn things around for the Bengals. I'm not so sure. He can steady the boat through this rebuilding period that is facing Evans.
ReplyDeleteDid he really sign at Idaho State? They've signed 2 players since May 15th and announces it on their website, but Tomas isn't mentioned anywhere except from a Twitter post posted by himself. Any validity in this post?
ReplyDeleteYou are right that ISU hasn't announced yet, but I am pretty sure it is legit. I have heard they may be waiting on a couple guys (maybe Sanchez is one) for academic things to be cleared up.
ReplyDeleteThat makes sense. It's too bad that JC programs don't ensure all academic issues are handled well before the signing period. Good luck to Tomas and the others.
ReplyDeleteTomas Sanchez should be a dominate gaurd. Ive seen him play in person and he was tremendous. GREAT passer and good shooter. Very smart player. I look forward to seeing him in a bengal uniform next season. GO BENGALS!!
